Most Popular Messaging Apps and the world map of social networks

I would to start this first article of 2017 by wishing you and your family: Happiness, Health and Love.

For the first time, I didn’t send any SMS for the usual end of year greetings and wishes. Like many of you, my greetings were sent using several messaging apps, WhatApps, Viber and Facebook Messenger. Consequently, it has been reported in many countries that the number of SMS sent this 31st December has decreased, this decrease has been already observed the two previous years.

In France for example, Orange has reported 94,9 million of SMS hence 6% less than in 2015. Bouygues Telecom has reported 45 million thus 9.7% of decrease, Free Telecom with 60 million thus 4% less compared to 2015.

Most Popular Messaging App in Every Country

The market of Mobile Messaging Apps is shared by some key players. Simillar web a Web Marketer company has published figures on May 24th 2016, that show how these key players are performing around the world.

Line is the most popular app in Japan, WeChat in China, KakaoTalk leads in South Korea, imo in Cuba, Zalo in Vietnam, ChatOn in Eritrea, and BBM in Indonesia.
